Daley, politics was one of the few tickets to power. Industrious and ambitious, Daley rose through the ranks of an old-style machine to become a national figure and Chicago's most powerful mayor. But it r the end, he lost his grip on the city when confronted by the issues of race and the Vietnam War. Hood F estiv al o f Jazz sh o rtly after. B a rro n ’s latest re c o rd in g is his 1995 CD “ W anton S p irit.” which includes Haynes and bassist C harlie H aden.
